INSTRUCTIONAL ELEMENTS
RELATIONAL. The success of the Linked Learning pathway depends on the extent to which relationships reflect the core values of the pathway. The adult community is collegial, reflective, and optimistic. Adults in the pathway support, believe in, and support each student. Students' interactions reflect the core values of the pathway. ccore The success of the Linked Learning pathway |
PERSONALIZED. Adults actively seek to know each student as a learner and person, then personalize instruction for students to ensure they achieve their intended graduation outcomes. Lesson and project design incorporates student voice and choice.
FUTURE-ORIENTED. Linked Learning pathways are designed to ensure that all students are college- and career ready upon graduation, as described in the HISD Graduate Profile. Students and adults keep that future in mind by aligning all work to pathway graduate outcomes.

RELEVANT. Adults ensure that student learning connects with high-growth/high-demand careers by integrating work-based, CTE, and core academic learning. Students make clear connections between the work they do today and the work they will do in their adult lives.
RIGOROUS. Classroom instruction ensures students master not only the TEKS but also College & Career Readiness Standards and pathway outcomes. The rigor of daily instruction is sufficient to prepare students adequately to perform effectively in career internship assignments and enter post-secondary education without remediation.
